Return of the King

So basically all week the song from Lord of the Rings when Frodo goes in the boat to "die" has been playing repeatedly in my head all week long. 

Its insane thinking about leaving. I love it here so much, and 

I know that This is the work of the Lord. I know that God loves and He really does love us, even if sometimes we think that we don't feel it.

I know that God loves us SO MUCH that He sent His son to die for us and Christ loves us so much that he was perfectly obedient to everything His Father commanded Him to do.

I know that Christ LIVES. He died, and rose again three days later and because he lives, WE WILL ALL LIVE AGAIN.  

Because of the Atonement and Resurrection of Christ, who was lifted up on the cross, we can be reconciled with the Father and "lifted up" to come before Him and to be able to see Him face to face. 

I know that it's not always easy, but it's always worth it. We don't know everything, but when we can lean on what we DO know, its enough of a crutch to strengthen us and help us go a little further, even when we can't see all of the details. 

And encima de todo (sorry I dont know how to say that in enlish)

Jesus Christ is right there. He is with us and He loves us. 

I know that This is the work of salvation, and that the Atonement is real. 

I am so grateful for these past 18 months I've had to be able to learn more and grow closer to Heavenly Father. He is always there, and He never leaves our side-- its US who alejarnos (again--sorry- dont know how to say that either) from Him.

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you all so much!!! Im excited to see you!! OJALA que tengan juegos y peliculas para mi porque yo voy a estar tan perdida yo creo, pero esta todo bien. Valio la pena cada minuto de la mision.

This week we started sharing Alellujah (spelling?) the video about christ that is super awesome. It talks about now we can follow Christ and find a whole new life! really! a new life! A brand new life! why? because He payed it all. how? we can follow His Gospel. He showed us the only way that we can do it! and here it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all right there. It's exactly what He taught when He was here.

Sent by God, Christ payed the debt that we all owe, that came because of the Fall of Adam and Eve. All payed. But God lives by a law. And so He COULDNT just hand us eternal life. He had to set some standards. THE GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST and He had to send His son.

Christ came to teach, to heal, and to Atone and die for us. And the greatest happiness that He gives us that opportinuty to live again! WHY? 

BECASUE HE LIVES! He died and rose again the third day. And because He lives, we all will live again. THAT is free. THAT we don't have to pay any price. 

But what we do decide is how we choose to live. How we choose to prepare for that resurrected day when we will be judged. Following the Gopsel, established by Christ, and preached by ancient and modern'-day prophets, we will inherit a place in the highest part of God's kingdom, and finally be able to be perfected in Him, becoming as His is, being cleaned through His Atoning sacrifice. 

And that is why we celebrate. 

I hope this Easter, we can all remember why He came, and what He did for us. And that we can show our love for Him by our obedience and our righteousness.

I LOVE you all so much!I I am so happy to be a part of this work, to be able to share this message 24-7. It's the greatest blessing.

Hello family!!!! So this was my first week in Recreo since six months ago! and what do you know, some of them recognized me!! We went to some peoples housese that I had missed so much, like natalia and familia Cares. It was so great being able to see them again.

We have 3 people here who are preparing for baptism so far, the work here in Recreo is moving forward. It's a blessnig to be able to be back. 

So something that happened this week, was i got bit by a dog!! wooohoo!!! It was a little dog. Tiny. And it almost didn't do anything, but some blood did come out, so I have to get 5 injections. So I sent the video of us in the hospital that first day. I look WAY wors than I really was. Actually I just decided to lay down because I was tired. Not because I was in pain or on drugs or anyything! so dont worry!!!

my bible study has been good. I found a couple awesome scriptures:

"If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7

"He which converteth a sinner from the error of his ways shall save a soul from death" James 5:20

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phillippians 4:7

I jsut love those scriptures. 

This week President Russel M. Nelson and some other leaders of the church talked to all of Chile through transmition! So we all went to the stake center and heard the conference, and President Nelson TALKED IN SPANISH!!!! It was so cool!!!!!!! He just talked! it was awesome!! He talked about the joy that comes from keeping the commandments and how we can't even number the blessings that come from the temple. He talked about how God always keeps His promises.

 If He promised us peace, He WILL send His peace. If He promised eternal happiness and rest from all our trials, it WILL come. God is a God of order and of truth. He is perfect and loving and knows everything. If we don't know something, we just have to pray to Him. He blesses us for practicing that faith and reaching out to Him. He blesses us for trusting in Him.

 

I know that God lives, that Christ lives! The church released a new video called (in espanish) Aleluya. It talks about because Christ lives, we all can live! And all of our families! We're all gonna be together forever in a state of happiness! It's like a never ending Christmas!!

Ah, I love the mission. I dodn't know how much I didn't know until I came here and started learning it. It's an amazing experience.

Un día más de vida

Hola famillia!!!

So. starting out. We have cambios. We have tranfers. I am leaving chimby after so much time and it's heartbreaking but we all know that everything happens for a reason. 

BUT I am going back to Recreo in Rancagua, which is a previous sector! I am gong to be there with Hermana Perez from Peru!! My third companion from peru! 

Wow this week was crazy. We have 4 people ready for baptisms that are gonna happen when I leave! It makes me so sad, but I know that I need to be in Recreo (de nuevo)

This week, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh learning about our Savior. I started reading the new testament this week, and it's helping me understand Jesus Christ and who He was and how He teached. It helps me learn how I can become a more effective teacher. 

He was just amazing. 

Learn of Him, Listen to His words, walk in the meekness of His spirit, and you will have peace in Him. Just do it.

Grandmother's House

I realised this week that we literally have to go over the river and through the woods by bus to get to chimby from the city. It's awesome. 

This is the last week of the transfer. If things go the way I think they'll go, it's also my last week in chimby. I don't know what im gonna do.

Today we made a big find in our backyard! theres a HUGER HOLE covered with wooden planks. It basically looks just like the entrance to the hole that batman uses. Basically batman lives in my backyard. We took pictures. We were a little scared.

OH MY GOODNESS this week was the best week ever. We had a transmission by Elder Bednar. He was in Argentina and did a capacitation for all the zone south america south! so we watched it and he is the coolest person. I didn't know how cool Elder Bednar was until I watched this. He is so cool. 

He talked about how we need to be with investigators. About how too many times we play a game in the church called "Guess whats in my head" where we ask question that make the students objects instead of agent. Question that don't extract more from them, but that just help us get the lesson out that we wanted. 

He said we need to focus on them! and he talked aso much about the spirit, and following it with faith.

He saids that the water didn't part for the israelites until AFTER their feet were in the water! They had to just move forward with so much faith to be able to get that water going. Incredible. I've been trying more this week to put my feet in the water (symbolically speaking, of course-- no soy chueka)

Sometimes theres just decisions that we have to make and we still don't know if it's exactly what God wants of us, but we just have to jump. Because faith is not faith without action. It would be mere belief. But the FAITH the TESTIMONY come from action!

So today for pday we went to "Puente Negro" to hike up a hill, and it was super steep. There was no path, and we went about halfway but then had to come back down for the sake of time. and the whole time the little town be3low was playing music that made me feel like I was part of the movie "Nacho Libre" But that's besides the point.

BUT my point is that it was a little scary and made me remember that one time that Bennett Dad and I went up Mount Timp and turned back early for the rain.

(for those who don't know)

In this trail, Dad fell off the trail, and we continued down very slowly, with Bennett holding onto Dads backpack, so he wouldn't fall again. And thinking about this, I was remembering the talk that Elder Holland gave last year about the Atonement and about how we always have our brother there, supporting, not only us, but the people we love. 

Sometimes we get scared because people make decisions and we're there reacting as though they were falling off a mountain going "nooooooooooooooooo" and in shock, feeling like we can't do a thing for them.

BUT there is something we can do, it was something we did on the trail with dad.

We can pray, that the Atonement will be there as a cushion or as a support for them. I think we underestimate the statement that the prophets have taught like a million times that 

if we knock, it will be opened

If we ask, we will receive.

An important part of the Atonement is that it's not just for repentance, but for strength and for help. 

Like Bennett, holding onto Dad's backpack (even when Dad didn't think he needed it) Christ is there for those we love, even when they don't think they need it.

A missionary in the ward shared a story about how when his sister got up and left home with her boyfriend, his dad fasted for 3 years, and the daughter said she felt something and came back. It works. It all depends on faith.

When Alma the younger was visited by an angel, this angel said it was a response to the prayers of his father! It was the power of the faith of a loving father.

I am sorry that whole story was just a blab. and really long, but its true.

We have more of an influence than we realize in the lives of those who can't see their own way.

WEDDINGS!

The wedding went great!! Chilean weddings are almost the same as our weddings. They had the ceremony outside on the lawn of the church and a judge came and did the marriage and we all took pictures really quick and then went inside to the "cocktail" but don't you worry, there was nothing more than soda and good food!

They played music and their kids sang some songs. It was pretty american, with chilean music. 

Hermana and Presidente Warne came because they know the familia Estay really well and it was cool. 

ummmm que mas................. 

OH I am NOT with a gringa!! they changed us last minute and I have Hermana Demetrio from MEXICO!!!!!!! wooooooooooooooooooh!!!!

She is mexican mexican! It's great! 

for example. She sent a package home, and her dad wouldn't sign for it because he thought it was from the mafia. Legit. 

We have had quite the week!!

This week was hard in a lot of ways, but I have been learning so much. We are working hard to try to get a baptism this change and to bring more people to Christ. It's interesting to see how different people react to different missionaries. We have some less actives who have started progressing gracias a Hermana Demetrio and her unique personality.

It's a testament to how much God knows us and loves us. He puts us where we are for a reason and with the people we are with for a reason; to fulfill His specific purposes. And Since His purposes are to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of men, that means that Our experiences and our situations are designed by the Divine Creator to bring us unto life eternal. It's mind blowing and awesome.

Raining Miracles!

Hello family! 

So this week was great. I successfully killed Hermana Vorvwaller today and am going to be with another gringa here in Chimby!

Her name is Hermana Cottom from Arizona! We have lived together before, she's so awesome. It's gonna be awesome. 

This is going to be my fourth change in Chimby (for those who are keeping track)

and the summer is hot.

The other day we met with Adriana, one of our AWESOME investigators who told us that Sunday they were going to go to the beach, but if it rained, she'd go to church. So that night we prayed for rain, so that she's be able to come to church.

 

So yesterday in the morning it was POURING RAIN! It was raining SO HARD! and there was lightning and thunder REALLY close to the house. 

I know that God answers prayers. When He says He'll bring it, He brings it good! It was the first time in a while (so the chileans say) that it was rained in the summer. It was very unusual, but i knew it was God's way of helping His missionaries. 

GUESS WHOSE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!

The Familia Estay is getting married this Saturday! After so much time waiting, they finally got everything they needed to be able to get married. So we are going to be attending the wedding this Friday, 29 January!! And they will finally be able to participate in the church and most importantly, go to the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity with their children. 

I just know that God answers our prayers. I know that He is real, the evidence is so obvious. There is a design, and a creation, and there is a designer and a creator. 

I am so grateful for that knowledge and that There are no real endings in the plan of Salvation.

So Chimbarongo is just awesome. 

We started doing better contacts this week! And what we actually did one time was put a baptism date with a girl we contacted IN the contact! We should do that more more often! so that was a highlight. 

This week we had some great experience. We were in divisions and I was with an Hermana from Brazil and we were talking to this woman 

and I was like

"you must have a lot of fath in Christ"

and said "sipo" (yes with a chilean accent)

"and He helps you with your family too"

"sipo"

"¿what is the most important thing in your life?"

"sipo"

overall, an uplifting experience. 

There was more experiences that were just like "this is why i'm here" and it was hilarious. 

I'm my studies today I was studying "how to begin teaching" in preach my gospel. and dicided to look up the ser5mon on  the mount and Christ uses in matthew 5 HOW TO BEGIN TEACHING!

He starts by showing gratitude for the people who are doing things right and the blessings that come from what they are already doing, THEN He goes ahead and adds something else to help them be even better, just a short little principle about letting the light shine within you.

THEN, he stakes His purpose. He says why he's there and why it's important for them to keep the commandments-- or in missionary language--  COMMITMENTS! 

I KNOW with ALL my heart that GOD LIVES!!! He is there with us!!! He has always been with us, accompanying us since the day we were born and will be all the way until the day we die and get to go to His presence. 

I know that He knows us perfectly and that He had provided a way for us to be HAPPY!! and it is NOT the worlds way! it is God's way. His thoughts are NOT ours, He has a plan for us that we cannot comprehend, and if we let that believe grow within us like a seed, we can feel it with more power and strength that HE LIVES AND LOVES US!

You have to take care of a seed to help it grow. You can't just let it die in the sun. You have to do the things or nothing with grow. 

It was awesome. Thank you for all the love and letters.

This week, we got a lot of faith testers! 

Hortencia basically told us that she didn't think she could progress. She knows everything is true, but she lives far from the church and she can hardly walk. But she is so special, it's really hard leaving her. 

Also, Alicia broke up with us through text. Laaaaaaaame. 

This week we contacted a couple with the law of chastity. It was actually a wonderful experience. It was while they were doin some things that they probs shouldnt have been doing, so we 

1)stopped it

2) taught them why

It was wonderful because that is like the essence of missionary work! CALLING THE SINNERS TO REPENTANCE. If we're not contacting those commandment breakers, who will! We saw them a second time this week, I think the pamphlet really made a difference.

We have had to rely a lot on our faith. We're trying to find new people to teach every singel day, because we almost have no one. And I kept asking, maybe theres something I am doing wrong, or we are doing something wrong as a companionship, or something?

Today, however, in my studies, God answered my prayers

2 Nephi 7:5

"Behold all ye that kindle fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks, walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks which ye have kindled."

Hay que seguir no más. 

sometimes we need to walk a little bit in the dark before God reveals light. Even if we just have a spark of faith, it works, it's somethings! Just keep moving forward until you have kindled a flaming fire! That's the process of life, moving forward anyways!

This week was a week of many wondeful expeiences and I just have to say that above all I know that Christ lives, and that He is always with us. 

I invite you all to find ways to come closer to Christ, because He is the ONLY rock that we can build on that will NEVER fall. 

The church is true, and the prophet is called of God, and will never lead the church astray. When we put our faith in the Lord, we are protected.

This week was incredible! 

We have a family whoa re less active but are coming back to church (Fam Aguilar) and the husband is getting surgery this Wednesday for a really bad health problñem that he has. 

So our Ward Relief Society did a Fund Raiser and sold Empanadas and it was amazing to see them all working together. I got to see an old fashioned brick oven that is absolutely gigantic (getting tips for when my pizzaria) it makes like 1,000's of breads (grammer dont even) and it's HUUUUGE. so awesome. But really. And its no surpise that tyhe day after the fundraiser, we saw a growth of 20 more people at church! We normally get like 30 something people going to are cute little brtanch and Sunday went 51! WOOOHOO! WE ARE PACKED. 

The Winter is trying to linger here.. we've had a lot of rain, so thats been SUPER FUN. But the past few days I have just been here in a sunny springy paradise, so that's spectacular. 

Um GUESS WHAT. In the mission, we are starting a focus on Family History, so starting now, we get an hour every week to be on Family Search!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A Drunken Caballero and Un Pobre Forastero

I had an amazing experience this week with treating and loving others as Christ would treat them.

On Sunday after church a drunk and his friend came and started talking to us and the members. And it was a little bit funny but mostly really sad.

Actually he was talking and we couldnt understand him so his friend was translating. 

He was asking for money and talking to us about his situation. He doesnt have a home and was wearing the only clothes he has.

So we were all standing there, listening, not rreally knowing what to do. and my companion turns to me for us to leave and she tells this man, "We'll be back in 10 minutes" and I go with her thinking she was just saying that so we could leave! 

But no, we walk to our house and she puts all the fruit we had into a bag, with some other things we had in the house, and then and goes and grabs her winter coat and we went back and she gave it all to him. It was definitely a powerful and humbling moment.

I hope we can all remember Jesus Christ in every moment of our lives. He is the center of it all, the reason for our hope and our happiness. 

"God be thanked for the divine gift of His Divine Son"

IT'S A BIRTHDAY!

So this week was amazing. Chimbarongo is my 5th sector and I am with Hermana Arevaldo, my 6th companion in the field, and its in the COUNRTY! So we ride bikes and go to fun places like secret water spots from Tuck Everlasting that have water that tastes like heaven.

We are doing so good, the work is moving along!!! 

We have a cute 78 year old lady named Ana (we call her Anita) and she is preparing to recieve her endownment in the temple!!!!!!!!!!! She is the cutest old lady ever and she lives with her two sisters, and we ate lunch with them the other day and it was the cutest meal of my life.

OTHER HIGHLIGHT!!!!

THE FAMILY ESTAY GOT ENGAGED!!! It was sooo cute!! So this is a family who are members but they're not married, but they live together and have three children, and they are going to go to the temple to be sealed, but the hubby was wating for a paper that said he was divorced to his former spouse, before they could make plans to get married!! 

SO ANYWAY!! the paper came and he calls us, and we go over and hide, and it's dark and the parents come home, and the kids start playing Passenger ("Let Her Go"--so trunky) and the mom is like "What??" and she turned around and the dad is like "you are the most beautiful wonderful woman in the world" and cute thinkgs like that and he gets down on one knee and proposes to her with a RING and everything!! It was the cutest thing ever!!!!!! They are going to go to the temple, and be sealed with all their kids!! It's so adorable!! so trunky!!!

This week on Friday, we had the big birthday of chilean independance!!!

The ward had a party that lasted all day long and we did all sorts of eating and playing. 

and i got to dress up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other news we have transfers this week!! They are moving me to San Fernando, cachamungo (o algo asi) with Hermana Arevalo de Peru! woooooooooooooooooooooooooo! It's going to be amazing. The mission goes by way too fast. It's not even fair.

FELICE CUPLEAÑOS TO HEATHER E LANE ELIASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HOPE YOU GET BIG HUGS AND KISSES FROM EVERYONE ONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IN OTHER NEWS. This we we are seeing the Happy Birthday of CHILE!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... OOOOOOOOOOOOOO

AND it's so fun. Theres traditional Chilean music playing everywhere and people are nicer and the chilean red, white, and blue are EVERYWHERE. It's a big week long party basically. the ward activity goes from 10:30am to 11:00pm and its just gonna be so much fun. We eat empanadas a lot (which arte like fried hot pockets) and food in general. a LOT. It's so fun in Chile right now

Also my compañera keeps making food from peru and getting me fat, so if I come home looking like a blueberry, NOT MY FAULT.

This week Margarita went to church!!!!!!!!!!! it was such a chock (which is a terrible thing for a missionary to say) but she never wanted to progress. We asked her to get baptized and she said, "I wanna wait until I am about to die and then I will get baptized" and we're like IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT. 

But you know what, she came to church and it was awesome. She is one step closer to the peace and love and happiness and joy and perfection that the gospel brings, and we know that she and her family will make it there. 

In other news, the work is moving forward. We looked for a recent convert the other day and found his MOM! So we taught her and she was awesome, It's amazing how God works with us. 

Whenever an appointment falls through, we always end up finding someone else to teach and you just know that it was in God's plan all along. He closes some doors to be able to open the ones that are going to be the most fruitful. 

This week I learned a LOT about humility. It's amazing how important it really is! And it's so hard to have it!! To the world, humility looks like a weakness, but it's a strength, it's a giant strength. It's a Christlike Attribute, and how do I know it's a strength?? Because it takes a whole gosh darn lot of strength to be humble. 

But the thing with humility is that it's one of the traits that we know we need to develope to be more like Christ, and we know that being more like Christ brings us more happiness. ENTONCES, 

Humility helps us be happier! It's very simple. And it's the same with patience and love and virtue and diligence. They are attributes designed to make us a happier people. It's amazing.

This week we are making progress with so many things!! We found an old investigator and got her to set a date for BAPTISM and we are working with an awesome awesome awesome family to get them to commit to baptism. They're about as close to being with my own family as I have gotten in Chile and love us like we're one of them. They're the familia cares and they are just hilarious. I can't even. The only member of the family is Ricardo who was a less active but is progressing a lot. 

They are stiking cute their family. We always eat at their house. last night we had crepes with tunafish. It was good...

I am learning so many new recipes!! I learned how to make bread deliciousness and Empanadas, which I am definitely making at home. We had a Noche De Hogar with the Relief Society President and her family and she taught us so many things.

My compañera is doing better! We found a fix for her ojos so it's just fancy living from here on out! She made me PERUVIAN FOOD on day when we didn't have lunch and it was so good. Maybe i'll be able to learn how to cook by the end of this change! 

Oh but we met the cutest lady who only let us in her houe so we could use the bathroom! The bathroom! A great way to end a date or start a lesson! She is the sweetest woman ever named Ana and she has just the sweetest spirit ever. The old people here are the best people here. ALL the older people we meet are so friendly, it's such a blessing. They just kill me with their cuteness. 

We played capture the flag today with the zones. And what do you know, there comes more precious old ladies walking through the park, I think if Christ was here He'd spend his time with the children but then right after He'd go and visit all the old ladies. Cutest people ever. juss sayin.

Tender MErcies

So while all you cazy kids were partying it up at the wedding, I was down here enjoying high class peruvian food in Santiago. (thank you for having health problems, compy). It was a break from the normal everyday stuff and it was such a blessing from God. He really does know all of His children by name and their needs and desires.
Also on Sunday we had Jello and Chicken Salad sanwiches. um AMERICA.

The ward here in Recreo is awesome. We have some really awesome members who are anxious to work with the missionaries. And We are working as hard as we can.

I have been learning this week a lot about the love of God and His gift to us of His Son. I feel like we don't think enough about how much He really did for us. He was the perfect example and established His perfect gospel, and then, when it got hard, really realyl hard, He asked if this cup could pass from Him, but still left the words "Not my will, but thine be done."

And I think we could think more about how we need to be focussing more on what is the will of the Father. Because His will is the way to eternal happiness. There is NO other way that we can receive Salvation, except it be through Jesus Christ.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA AND GRANDPA MOSS!!

This week they decided to rip us apart, Hermana Chapman y yo. And I say rip because they are sending me.,.. badadadadadadadad BACK to RANCAGUA.

Im heading to Recréo, Rancagua with Hermana Raphael de PERÚ!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

IM GONNA LEARN ESPANISH!

But Hermana Chapman is going to TRAIN!! woohoo! So she will just be the most awesome trainer ever. I'm so proud a her!

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVERY HAPPENING THIS WEEK IS HAPPY WEDDING HEATHER E LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WESTON ELIASON is the luckiest man alive right now (I HOPE HE RECOGNIZES THAT)

But this week we had a Hilda spotting. I don't think I mentioned that she's a crazy woman we taught a couple times. But then we realized that she was crazy and now we avoid her. But sometimes we have Hilda spottings when we see her. It's like spotting the Grinch. And its funny because when we see her there's that automatic HORROR music playing in the background. Its great. The mission is great. 

In other news it's been windy, Its like MARY POPPINS down here windy. For reals, its so much fun.  She should arrive here anyday.

But anyways I love you all so much. Thank you for the love and apoyo. I know why I am here and I glory in it. I don't glory in myself, but in my God. He is my strength and my song. I really really really could not do this without Him. I konw that my redeemer lives and He loved all of us with a love we could never comprehend. I know He is the potter and we are the clay. And he's giving us every single experience we have to help us be molded and shaped into the eternal beings that we were destined to become. I am so immensley indebted to Him and to my Brother and Savior. And I ma so glad that the Holy Ghost is at work with us here in the mission. We see miracles when we "get out of the way" and let the spirit guide our lives.

This week was full of lots of advenures. Theres been a lot of

"Where are you from?"

"Arizona?"

"Si."

Thats my Spanish in a nutshell in case youre all wondering. Its beautiful mì accento con una gringa compañera. 

WE ATE SO MUCH THIS WEEK.

We made kaka de mono twice this week, which is no bake cookies and its not doing us good. But the member love it so we keep making them because thyre chocolate and peanut butter so like what else do you need? 

This next week we will get our TRANFER CALLS on Saturday. This change has been the fastest change ever, I feel like I got here yesterday. But it's been so good. My compañera has been fabulous. 

This week we went and tought in ENGLISH!! I SPOKE IN ENGLISH IT WAS WEIRD. There are these investigators (although they don't know it yet) names Felix and Nianda. And he's actually from Arizona but she is from Indonesia and they are of the Islam religion. He convertyed to it when he met her so they could get married and they've been kickin it here in Chile for about a year while he teaches English at the university. 

Sowe went over there and they made us pizza. And we just talked in English because he speaks it duh and she's better at understanding and spekaing it tham she is at Spanish. But they are the cutest couple ever and it was amazing being able to be there. 

they told us about Islam and its was so interesting to hear about, and we told them about mormonism and it was just really good!Ç

wE had an earthquake on Tuesday. nbd. It was so fun. We were in our apartment and the bulding was just SWINGING aruond and the peruvian in our apartment was scared out of her mind while all us gringas were sooooo excited.

Bueno. I think it would do everyone good to read Ether 12 and then Hebrews 11. They are all about faith. They are amazing. Faith is so important. 

We need it as much as they needed it way back when. 

Through faith we can see miracles and we can grow and cahnge into the person we were destined to become.

This week was incredible.

We had a baptism on Satuday!! MAYRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have pictures cause my camera died BUT it was amazing and this girl (she has 19 years) is gonig to have amazing eternal family someday. 

Ahhh, This week I learned so much about the Strengthening power of the Atonement. My companion and I are seeing the hand of the Lord so much in every single day. The power of prayer is real. Heavenly Father is really there, and He is always waiting to hear from us. 

WE went to Bitanical Gardins in Talca today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA LANE!!!! I HAVENT SEEN YOU IN A WHILE BUT IM SURE YOU DONT LOOK A DAY OVER 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in other news. This week was a week of such great experiences. We met many new people this week, and one of them is this cute old lady who feeds us sugar. (dont worry mom, im being fed!)

We met a woman with the heart of a little girl, who is so gitty and so cute, and so RTEADY FOR THE GOSPEL!!

And we met camila, who is like 21 and is studying and is like "the youth these days are so lost" and we're like RIGHT! WE HAVE A SOLUTION FOR THAT.

I just want everyone to go home and ready Hel. 5:12, its about bui9lding upon the rock of our Redeemer who is Christ, We really can withstand the fiery darts of Satan when we build upon our foundation of Christ. In 1 Nefi 8 we read about Lehi's dream and how IMPORTANT it is to hold on to the word of God. Theres a talk somewhere and he talks about this dream and he comments that the criptures are a LIFE LINE for us. They are absolutely necessary. 

The scriptures help us strengthen our faith in Christ, which helps us make better desicions, which helps us to withstand bad temptaion and recognize when we need to repent!

this month the all of chile fasted for rain. and let me just say, when Heavenly Father brings it, He brings it. we got showers of rain. Its amazing to see the blessings that come from acting in faith.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

hAPPY bIRTHDAY aMERICA!!!!!!!  this week was full of excitement! Chile won the Copa America (woot woot) andf the 4th of July was awesome. We made some Hamburgers oreo balls with teh american flag. Super bakan. 

But more importantly we are moving the work forward, This ward is a change from what I was used to, but It's all good, we have 2 baptisms coming up already and are anticipating much more.

and the contacting is hilarious. nuff said. I will have no fear when I come home, let me just say that much.

This week I learned a lot a LOT about relying on the Spirit. The spirit can be SO STRONG if we just follow it without fear. Ah as young missionaries, me and Hermana Chapman have to be relying a lot more on the spirit and I am starting to learn how much God really can be involved in our lives as much as we let him. 

a wise man always said "God will be as much a part of your life as you allow him to be" 

I'm grateful for the guidance we recieve from the Spirit and the scriptures anf our wonderful general authorities. I can't blieve we lost another one this week, but its all part of the plan!
